Candidates need to make sure that they're switching jobs for the right reasons. You must want to be your own boss. In the bank, salespeople may be provided with customers. A life insurance agent, on the other hand, must hunt for customers. A major part of the job involves prospecting and understanding clients. Then there are those who think that insurance agents don't have as strong an image as someone who works in a bank. If that's the case, don't join, otherwise, there'll be a lot of angst. That said, I do see such perceptions changing as more banks sell insurance products
